Any sort of park or riverwalk with a view of water makes a perfect backdrop, and bonus points if you have a little setup there. Some romantic music playing, a bottle of champagne waiting, and of course, you spilling your heart out when you pop the question! It works (and, yeah, brings me to tears) every time. 

• Propose on your anniversary (or another special date)

Anytime that I hear a proposal is on an anniversary… It gets me. Because of that level of intention? That’s what it’s all about, and that’s what makes things romantic!!
