Celeste Chicago is a venue that’s giving disco party goodness. As a Chicago wedding photographer who loves all things rad, bold, and funky, this Chicago wedding venue is something out of my actual dreams. It’s like a disco party and a vintage night out had a very stylish baby, so, yeah… It’s straight out of my dream venue lineup. Celeste doesn’t try to be traditional, and that’s exactly the point.

Celeste is a Chicago wedding venue that fully understood the assignment. It blends elegance downstairs with full-on discotheque energy upstairs, and somehow makes it all feel cohesive instead of chaotic. It’s seriously unlike any other Chicago wedding venue, having its own personality that speaks throughout every single detail. If your ideal wedding feels more like a great night out than a formal event, you’ll for sure want to see all the details about planning a wedding here.

Every floor has its own personality, which means your wedding day naturally unfolds in chapters: cozy, intimate moments leading into an all-out party. That variety is something I love as a Chicago wedding photographer because it gives your gallery so much texture and movement.

• The Whiskey Bar – the first floor is a rustic, dimly-lit whiskey bar that invented coziness. It holds up to 50 seated guests or 125 cocktail-style, and makes a perfect starting point for the night; relaxed, social, and intimate.
• The Deco Supper Club – Art Deco vibes, stunning light fixtures, and delicious food make the Deco Supper Club the ideal spot for a luxe dinner, holding up to 40 guests seated and 75 cocktail-style. 
• Disco – okay, this one?? 100% yes. The whole room actually feels like you’re inside a disco ball (while simultaneously being surrounded by disco balls), and the energy is unreal. It creates the best setting for an all-night party, holding up to 90 people.  
• The Rooftop Garden – an indoor/outdoor greenhouse space with city views and a bar, which already tells you everything you need to know. It holds up to 75 guests and works beautifully year-round for ceremonies or transitions between spaces.

Each one is stunning and has its own character, which is something I love so much as a Chicago wedding photographer. The galleries from weddings here always have the coolest energy with so much variety and the grooviest aesthetics. 

How to Make Your Celeste Wedding Feel Personal (Not Just Cool)

Okay, in a venue with this much personality, I get it… It can feel like it’s impossible to make it your own. Hear me out, though: that’s not true. There are so many easy ways to make it feel like you that never compete with the venue. 

A few of my fave ways that my couples infuse their personality into it? You know I’ve got you, babe.

• Your outfits – whether it’s one or two (or honestly…three) outfits, that’s where your self-expression shines. Sparkles, feathers, hot pink shoes; whatever it is, I’m so here for it. 
• Your music – whether it’s a live band or a playlist that’s banger after banger, your music sets the tone. Having a playlist that’s as high-energy as you want the night to be is the literal key.
• The lighting – in a room full of disco balls, the lighting setup you choose makes a difference. My opinion? Make it a crazy color that’s so you. 
• Letting the night unfold – the best thing you can do to actually make your night feel personal is to not over-schedule it. All that does is end in stress, so trust that the atmosphere will guide you to exactly how the night is supposed to go.

• Are there getting-ready rooms on-site for a Celeste wedding? 

While there are no getting-ready rooms at the Chicago wedding venue, it’s conveniently located near tons of Chicago hotels. If we’re taking hotel photos and city photos into account, my faves are The Langham and Hotel Chicago Downtown. 

• What’s the parking like at Celeste? 

Celeste has street parking and nearby garages, so be sure to note that to your wedding guests who will be bringing a car. 

• Is catering done in-house for a Celeste wedding? 

Catering is in-house for your wedding at Celeste Chicago, and it’s so good. They offer it on the second floor at the Deco Supper Club. 

• Will we have access to every floor for our Celeste wedding?

Yes, you can choose to do a full buyout so that you have access from the whiskey bar to the rooftop garden. I highly recommend this, as each level has its own charm and character, which is so fun for variety on your wedding day.  

• Is there an elevator at Celeste?

There is an elevator to get from floor to floor, so don’t worry about accessibility concerns.  

• What style of wedding photography fits Celeste well?

Celeste is one of those venues where candid, documentary-style photography really shines, because people are actually having fun instead of worrying about how they look. And that’s my exact approach to capturing nights here.

Andrea and Jack’s reception was less “formal reception” and more “best party of our lives.” It kicked off at the Whiskey Bar with a cozy, warm feel before heading up to the third floor, which felt more like a vintage nightclub fever dream (in the best way): sparkly, loud, and so alive. 

From Andrea’s sparkly dress to a playlist that didn’t miss once, everything felt intentional without being overproduced. It was high-energy, real, and exactly the kind of environment where my approach (direct flash, lots of candids, zero stiffness) shines.
