There’s something about fall in Chicago that just hits different, the crisp air, the gold-tinged ivy, the cozy layers paired with coffee-fueled strolls. For Tess and Ben’s West Town engagement session, we leaned all the way into that magic. From ivy-covered brick walls to post-shoot pasta at Tortello, their session felt less like a photoshoot and more like tagging along on the dreamiest morning date. We kept things super true to them: minimal posing, plenty of walking hand-in-hand, spontaneous sidewalk spins, and a little extra PDA (as it should be). Basically, just two people wildly in love doing what they do best, hanging out, looking chic, and laughing through it all!

We kicked things off just as the neighborhood was waking up, golden leaves crunching underfoot, brick buildings still cool with shade. Tess wore a stunning long-sleeved satin dress (like…excuse me???) and strappy heels, while Ben kept it laid-back-cool in a blazer and sneakers. Together? They looked like the stylish couple in a romantic indie movie set in Chicago. The kind where you root for them instantly. As we wandered West Town, we found this one building wrapped in ivy that had fully committed to fall. Every color, burnt orange, deep wine, golden yellow, created the dreamiest natural backdrop. But the real standout? The way Tess would sneak little glances at Ben like no one else existed!

We made our way through quiet streets, stopping wherever the light felt good or the vibe felt right. At one point, Tess and Ben sat on the stoop of a brownstone and just… melted into each other. No direction needed. It was one of those quiet, sweet moments where you realize, yep, this is what forever looks like. Also: can we talk about the way Ben scooped Tess up and carried her down the street like a total movie moment? Just casually being adorable and romantic in the middle of Chicago. No big deal.

We wrapped up the shoot at Tortello, a pasta spot they love on Division, and it turned out to be the most them way to end their session. They clinked glasses, twirled noodles Lady & the Tramp style, and belly-laughed through every bite. It was cozy, it was candid, and it was deliciously chaotic in the best way (flash on, spaghetti flying, wine flowing… you get it). These kinds of sessions, the real, relaxed, personal ones are what it’s all about. Tess and Ben didn’t just show up for photos; they brought their full selves, their love, their laughter, and their appetite. And that’s what made this West Town engagement session feel like something special!
