Okay, but this is how you do an engagement session. Tabitha and Michael brought all the right energy, moody skies, barefoot kisses, a vintage boat that looked like it came straight off a film set, and their dog in a custom bandana? Come on. This engagement at Fox River was effortlessly romantic in that laid-back, just-us kind of way. No overthinking. No stiff posing. Just cruising down the river with cozy vibes, a couple in love, and their pup taking the captain’s seat. Literally!
Tabitha showed up in the dreamiest slip dress (soft satin, spaghetti straps, so good) and skipped the shoes, because obviously barefoot boat moments hit harder. Michael kept it easy in a white button-down and black pants. Their vibe? Cool but classic. Relaxed but still looking like they belong on the cover of a moody indie record. Their dog? Stealing the show. Wearing a little “My Parents Are Getting Married” bandana, climbing up to the wheel like he runs this river, it was giving main character energy!
Here’s the thing about Fox River: it’s chill, beautiful, and a little underrated in the best way. The overcast skies gave us that perfect soft, glowy light. The water was calm. The dock was empty. It felt like the world slowed down just for these two. If you’re thinking about something a little different for your engagement session, something that feels more like a date than a photoshoot I highly recommend hopping on a boat with your person. You’ll laugh, cuddle, maybe let your dog pretend he’s the captain… it’s a whole moment!
We ended things slow and sweet on the dock. The boat was tied up, the wind picked up just a little, and they danced barefoot with the softest smiles. You know those scenes in movies where everything feels quiet, like time paused for a second? It was like that. These two turned a moody Fox River afternoon into something totally magical.
