Some weddings are loud in all the best ways, confetti, sparkles, champagne showers. And then there are weddings like Libby & Saville’s Art Institute wedding, where the magic comes from the stillness. From the way the light fell across the floor, from the quiet glances between them, from the way the whole day felt intentional. They didn’t care about following trends or checking boxes. They wanted photos that would last fifty years, and that trust completely changed the way I got to document this day!

The morning started slow, and honestly, it set the tone for everything. Libby slipped into her lace gown with puff sleeves that felt like something out of a modern fairytale, her friends gathered close, and the room buzzing with this soft kind of joy. Meanwhile, Saville was across the way, adjusting his bow tie in the glow of a bar light, cool, classic, and already looking like he stepped out of an old black-and-white movie.

Before heading into the museum, we stopped at Union Station. Because let’s be real, if you’re in Chicago and you want drama and timelessness, those marble steps deliver every single time. Their wedding party showed up in jewel tones and chic textures, giving full editorial vibes. Between the grand staircase and their crew’s energy, it was the perfect mix of iconic and fun!

This is where it all shifted. Walking through the Art Institute with Libby and Saville wasn’t about posing. It wasn’t about forcing moments. It felt like moving through a gallery and accidentally becoming part of the art on the walls. The way they held hands, the way they looked at each other, it was natural, quiet, but so full of weight. The galleries force you to slow down, and that’s exactly what we did. The result? Photos that already feel timeless.

Their ceremony space at canal street eatery was flooded with golden light, bouncing off tall windows and modern lines. The florals were effortless, lush but not over the top, just enough to frame the moment without stealing the show. When Libby walked toward Saville, bouquet in hand, the entire room softened. It was simple, intimate, and so them!

Forget stiff traditions, these two cut into a pie instead of cake, and I think that tells you everything about their vibe. The reception was all about warmth and connection. Guests lingered over candlelit tables, cocktails in hand, laughing until the night blurred. Nothing rushed, nothing forced, just people showing up fully, celebrating the two of them in the most real way!

Libby & Saville’s Art Institute wedding was the reminder I didn’t know I needed: when you focus less on performing and more on being present, that’s when the magic happens. The photos we made aren’t just for today, they’re for decades from now, the kind you pull out and still feel proud of.
